OM ALI RECIPE (اوم علی)
Om Ali is an Egyptian Dessert made with dough (باقر خانی ) milk and crushed nuts. This is traditional Dessert of Egypt. Om Ali is basically bread pudding, a combination of bread soaked in the milk.
Om Ali means Mother of Ali. The Om Ali is very rich in taste and everyone love this dish in the Egypt.
- Milk (5 cups) دودھ
- Butter (30 gram) مھکن
- Cream (250 ml) کریم
- Sugar (3/4 cup) چینی
- Croissant – Bakarkhani (6 to 8) باقر خانی
- Cinnamon Powder (1/2 tbspn) دارچینی
- Raisins (2 to 3 tbsp) کشمش
- Almonds Crushed (25-30) بادام
- Pistachios Crushed (25-30) پستہ
- Sesame Seeds (1 tsp) تل
- Coconut Powder (1 tbsp) کوکونٹ پاؤڈر
HOW TO MAKE THE RECIPE
Take a pan put it on the flame and add full cream packed milk in the pan.
Now add 250 ml of cream in the milk, add 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon powder, add 3/4 cup of sugar and 30 gram of butter in the milk and cook it until boil.
Cook it until boil and continuously mix it as cinnamon powder clots mix completely in the milk. This is an important step.
Take a deep dish and add Bakarkhani (باقر خانی )Croissant in the dish arrange it in a sequence. Now add raisins 3 tablespoons, 25-30 crushed Almonds, 25-30 crushed Pistachio, 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds and 1 tablespoon of Coconut Powder.
Add the boiled milk in the dish as Croissant dip in the milk completely, and garnish with crushed nuts. Bake it 10-12 minutes.
Om Ali is ready to serve. You can eat it hot as well as chilled. It is very healthy and rich in taste.
